My Resignation After hours of contemplating, I have decided to leave the IPA. My itch for action is too much, ad the way Cybernations is going right now, I seriously doubt the IPA will be in any wars in the near future.
So I'm off to do some rogueing and perfect the art of war so that I can trully become one of the best fighters in the world. I will, of course focus my attacks on people that deserve it (war mongers and tech raiders) but I spoke with Bart about it and he said that he couldn't allow me to do it while still being a member of the IPA, so I made up my mind to leave.
And so I bid you all farewell,
- Horatio Nelson

Wow, nobody cares that I'm gone? I at least expected a few huzzahs from the many people that hate me.
Bart, you miss me, right?
Anyway, I want to update you guys on what's going on:
In my quest to perfect the art of war, I've Anarchied two war mongers already. I'm working on my third. :D I feel like I'm doing a lot to help the poor unaligned nations that have no one to look to for protection. I'm not sure that now I have gotten into this lifestyle I will not be able to leave it, so I wish the IPA luck, and I want it to know that I will always be there for it.

I miss you, but I'm sure as hell glad you're not an IPA member anymore.
Good luck. I'm sure we will fight together again sooner or later. I just hope it's later rather then sooner.

Take care out there dude.

I propose that Horatio Nelson be prohibited from the ever joining the IPA again under any circumstances. Enough is enough already.

Hear Hear
The reason I didn't respond earlier was because I saw no reason to. I think the silence was far more powerful than huzzahing from those who are happy.

i agree with gollum and inebrio

Considering I just declared my permanent allegiance to the IPA and vowed to be here to help protect you guys, I figured I would get something better than a proposition to ban me from the alliance.
If you guys ever go to war, you will be begging me for advice on how to do it. The war system is constantly changing, and the IPA hasn't been in a war since April. The three wars I have been in already have opened my eyes to this reality. The system is a lot different than it was in GWIII. In addition, there is a lot more to war than simply deploying and winning battles. You need to know how to deal with multiple opponents, and know the best course of action to take when your enemy throws a surprise at you.
If you ban me from the IPA, I may not feel inclined to help you out when you need me.
I realize this makes me sound very arrogant and egocentric, but it's the truth, and the sooner you realize it, the better off you will be.
You never know when an alliance like the Gentle Blue Whales will show up again, and attack out of the blue.

I'm going to have to agree with Nelson here.
I see no reason why he should be banned from rejoining. It's not like he's doing anything against our ideals. He's attacking war mongers and tech raiders. He's protecting innocent, unaligned nations.
The only reason I told him he couldn't do this as a member of the IPA is because if he messes up (like Granola and I have done in the past) and attacks someone labeled None that is actually a member of an alliance, it could put the IPA in danger.
Personally, I think what he is doing is a noble thing, it's just that, thinking rationally, allowing IPA members to do it would be taking too big a risk.

Thank you, Bart.

I am always available for war advice too (that I learned myself, what is taught in NPO manuals I cannot say, but my personal experience has been plenty). I've been in about thirty wars since joining the NPO - though the system has not changed significantly since GWIII.

frankly i didnt step in on this cuz i supported nelsons decision. i am not against him. its better he declares he is not in the alliance and do this then do this while in the alliance. he is basically doing what we try to do from a differant angle.
Crimius- 09-05-2007
the reason why i went to ban you from rejoining is because you have been actively going after nations, and that just is not what the IPA is about last time i checked. Yes, it is good that you are dropping warmongers and their ilk like flies, but should you rejoin the IPA after doing something like that, people are bound to remember someone who anarchied them a hell of a lot more than some puny nation who knows nothing about war that they just annihilated, and if they see that you have joined the IPA, it would only be a small logical step to surmise that the IPA, despite its name and official stance, is for the hunting and burning of nations in general, since warmongers often don't see themselves as such.
Hence, the only reason was to defend the IPA image, nothing personally against you or your activites. They just don't agree with the IPA, like Bart said. There is absolutely no reason you would be banned from the forums, just wouldn't officially be a member of the IPA. In all other respects, except for in name and in name ONLY, I am for you still having, shall we say, "member rights"

I think I've often felt like Crimius. To get OOC, we all adopt an identity for the purposes of le jeu, and we should join the corresponding alliances. In real life, I am far from a pacifist, but to play the part of a pacifist I join the IPA. So I respect the character of Nelson in character and out of character, but I don't think he belongs in an alliance dedicated to peace. He's for justice, which isn't always the same.
Inebrio- 09-05-2007
Whatever his stated intentions may be, Horatio Nelson is a warmonger and does not belong in the IPA. Plus he changes his mind far too often. I for one am tired of it.
